School bus service will begin Monday, August 16, 2021. For more information about the bus service, please call Robinson Transport at: 1-855-527-6171

Parents are encouraged to plan ahead for emergency situations. It is not too early to begin thinking about putting emergency procedures in place for your child should there be an early dismissal of students, without advanced knowledge. These dismissals might occur as a result of bad weather, a loss of electricity or water, a bomb threat, or excessive heat or cold within classrooms.

Sometimes the emergency may involve only one school, but most of the time, it will be district wide. Later in the winter, weather conditions pose problems that may create a need for an early dismissal. When time allows and where contact with parents can be made, the parents of kindergarten children are notified first. Please ensure that the telephone number given on the first day is a reliable number and that numbers are updated with the school office as changes occur.

High School – Classroom supply requirements will be distributed by individual teachers after school begins.

Online re-registration is now available through Alma for students returning in Grades 1 through 12. If you have already signed up and currently use Alma as a parent/guardian, please read through the help guide or watch the tutorial video located at: https://unit1.massac.org/registration-information

Additional registration information will also be shared with parents and guardians via electronic communication.

*Supply lists for each school are posted on their websites.

*Teachers will return for in-service August 11th-13th and the first day of school for students will be August 16th with a 2pm dismissal.

Mr. Hayes told WMOK that the plan as of now is to have a regular school schedule in the 2021/2022 school year – full days, five days per week with a lunch period.

Hayes advised WMOK of the current information that he has regarding Covid mitigations in the new school year.  The CDC issued guidance for Covid prevention in schools on Friday July 9th.  Also on the 9th, the Illinois Department of Public Health adopted the guidance.  As the information is still be reviewed WMOK has scheduled a tentative Coffee Break with Mr. Hayes for the last week of July.  At that time the most recent school board meeting will have taken place and procedures will have more clarity.
