Metropolis PD and their S.A.F.E. Program Offer a Chance to Win Chillo’s Treats for Kiddos Attending the Metropolis City Pool

/ WMOK

When WMOK spoke recently with Metropolis Public Safety Director, Chief Harry Masse he was anxious for the return of some normalcy with the opening of the Metropolis City Pool.  The S.A.F.E. Program put in place by the Metropolis Police Department offers them a wonderful opportunity to become involved with Metropolis youth under “good circumstances”.

“We have partnered up with the new owners of Chill-O’s. We’re going to try and have a drawing every day that the pool is open and two kids will win a Chill-O’s treat coin every day. and the police department is going to pay for that out of our SAFE charity fund” Masse told WMOK.

The Metropolis Police Dept. uses this program to interact with youth in a community setting; with events such as the end of summer pool party and others. If you want to donate to the SAFE project fund, you can by going to the Metropolis City Police department you can simply drop by and make your donation.

Metropolis Police Chief Harry Masse also released a statement via Facebook. Chief Masse stated “I have received some questions about our funding of the Chill-o’s. These funds are not city funds rather we have a charity fund called SAFE. (Safety and Fun Education). Officers and the public donate to this fund. We use it to buy educational items, pencils (which are a big hit) and other things that go to the community with a target for interacting with the youth (trunk or treat, end of season cookout at the City Pool, and now Chillo-s) If you or your business would like to donate, feel free. You can drop off the donation at the police dept any time. Just let them know it is for the SAFE fund.”
