WMOK (Metropolis, IL) On April 17, 2025, officers responded to Acee’s Truck Stop following reports of an altercation. Upon arrival, officers interviewed the victim, an employee, who reported that she had been involved in a heated argument with 51-year-old Audrey S. Canty from Covington, Georgia. During the dispute, Canty allegedly brandished a firearm from her vehicle and issued threats towards the victim.
Following the incident, officers conducted a search of the area and successfully located the vehicle associated with Canty’s departure. A handgun was subsequently recovered from inside the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, Audrey S. Canty was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault. She was later released on a notice to appear in court.
