
Metropolis, IL – Officers from the Metropolis Police Department responded to a call on February 18 reporting that Amber M. Gilbert, 36, was at a residence in the 1000 block of Ferry. Authorities were already aware that Gilbert had previously been banned from the residence, prompting further investigation.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that Gilbert was wanted on outstanding warrants issued by Massac County. The warrants included charges for possession of methamphetamine and criminal trespass to property. After locating Gilbert at the scene, officers placed her under arrest.
A subsequent search revealed that Gilbert was in possession of 26 rounds of ammunition. As a convicted felon, she faces additional charges for unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon, alongside the existing charge of criminal trespass to property.
Gilbert has been lodged in the Massac County Detention Center, where she awaits further legal proceedings.
