Local Man Arrested for Trespassing at Family Dollar Store

WMOK – Metropolis, IL – December 28, 2024 – Authorities were summoned to the Family Dollar Store on W. 10th Street after reports of a disturbance involving a local man. According to the caller, Jason Sullivan, 38, had returned to the store despite being previously trespassed for allegedly harassing customers.

 

Upon arrival, Metropolis Officers apprehended Sullivan and charged him with criminal trespass to property. He was subsequently released on a notice to appear in court. During the incident, officers offered Sullivan mental health services, which he declined.

The preceding information pertains to an arrest made by the Metropolis Police Department. This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
