(WMOK) Massac County, IL – The Fort Massac Water District has announced a scheduled water outage for certain areas of the district due to essential water main repairs on Monday, December 9th. The outage is expected to occur between 8:00 AM and 12:00 noon.
In an effort to keep residents informed, the district plans to contact affected customers via phone calls and text messages. This announcement is particularly aimed at individuals for whom the district does not have current contact information.
To assist customers in understanding the areas impacted by the outage, three detailed maps have been prepared. The maps highlight affected regions with red lines indicating the specific roads anticipated to experience disruptions. Key road names and landmarks have been marked for easy identification.
While parts of Mt. Mission Road will be affected, officials confirmed that Franklin School will remain operational during the outage due to redirected water sources. Other roads that will be impacted include Liberty Ridge Road, Joppa Road, McLaird Road, Riverview Road, Riverview Lake Road, Turtle Point Road, Washboard Lane, Driftwood Lane, and Cohoon Lane. Residents whose homes are not located on these roads will not be affected.
In addition to the water outage, a precautionary boil order for drinking water will be implemented for customers in the affected areas. This order is expected to remain in effect until approximately Wednesday afternoon, with updates provided as more information becomes available.
For those requiring assistance in locating their homes on the maps or with any inquiries, Ryan Travis can be contacted at 618-638-3833 via call or text.
