Metropolis Police Department Arrest Blotter:
(WMOK) Metropolis, IL – On March 18th Metropolis officers were called to Harrah’s casino. Harrah’s security had detained Arlen A Odell age 44 of Sycamore. Odell had been previously trespassed from casino property and was charged with criminal trespass to property and released with a notice to appear.
On the 19th A Metropolis officer observed Cale A Lewis,42, Metropolis in the 1200 block of Ferry. The officer was aware that Lewis was wanted on a warrant. Lewis began running and he ran into his residence. Lewis was found hiding under a bunch of clothes and taken into custody. Lewis was wanted on a warrant for FTA-Theft, issued by Massac County. Lewis was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The Metropolis Elks Lodge monthly meetings take place the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Except July, August and December only the 1st Tuesday. Members only can attend. Applications can be picked up at the Lodge or from a member.
IDNR ALERT
As people prepare to set out to view the solar eclipse on April 8, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources is sending out a reminder that that is also the first day of spring turkey hunting season. Officials are asking both eclipse viewers and turkey hunters to be mindful of each other. Officials are asking eclipse visitors to state parks to park in designated lots, and not spots designated for hunters.
