State agencies to provide updates on preparations for safe and successful April 8 total solar eclipse in Southern Illinois
What: Representatives from multiple state agencies and Southern Illinois University will provide updates on preparations for the April 8 total solar eclipse in southern Illinois during a news conference at Giant City State Park.
When: 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2024

          Illinois Emergency Management Agency

          Illinois Conservation Police
In addition, Blair Allen, executive producer of NASA EDGE, will be available for media interviews. Allen is working on preparations for the eclipse live streams and WSIU broadcast from campus in support of SIU’s NASA grants, SolarSTEAM, and the Dynamic Eclipse Broadcast Initiative.
