(WMOK) Metropolis, IL – A special meeting of the Metropolis Public Library Board of Trustees took place on Monday at 5:30pm. It was the second meeting in as many weeks

Amid a great deal of public comment in the recent meetings – Rosemary Baxter was the only public comment last night. She spoke regarding transport for the newly formed youth group in the afternoons which will take place at Eastland Life Church Gymnasium. Baxter spoke on behalf of parents who have already paid transportation fees but do not wish to remain in the Metropolis Public Library After School Program.
The Eastland Life Church After-School program began on Thursday the 29th of February when Eastland Life Church made its gymnasium available to parents for after-school care.
Motions were made and accepted in the meeting: in favor of resuming the Metropolis Public Library effective today (Tuesday March 5), accepting volunteers to continue the Metropolis Public Library After-School program, motion to refund any fees to families currently enrolled at the Metropolis Public Library after school program who do not wish to return and a motion to place Colby Kennedy as Interim Director.
