ANNA, IL, DECEMBER 13 – Throughout November, Rural Health, Inc. hosted an online fundraiser for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). With donations from the community, various agencies, employees, and Rural Health itself, the organization was able to raise $3,530. JDRF is a nonprofit organization that funds type 1 diabetes research, provides a broad array of community and activist services to the T1D population, and actively advocates for regulation favorable to medical research and approval of new and improved treatment modalities. Rural Health, Inc. assembled incentive packages built off of donated prizes and items from various area businesses in order to help entice the community’s involvement with the fundraiser. The company was honored to host the online fundraiser for JDRF and believes in their goal of creating a future without type 1 diabetes. Rural Health, Inc. extends their thanks to those across the southern Illinois area who donated to the fundraiser and to the businesses that donated to the incentive packages. The online fundraiser for JDRF was a part of a month long diabetes awareness campaign put on by the organization that included a diabetes awareness walk that took place on November 14, World Diabetes Day.
