Southern 7 May WOW Van Clinics

For Southern Illinois residents needing basic health care, the Wellness on Wheels (WOW) Van may help. Through a grant funded by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Southern 7 Health Department (S7HD) continues to provide many of these services through IDPH WOW Van Clinics. The WOW Van travels to high health-risk communities in the lower seven counties in Illinois.

May 3 Cobden Dollar General Store 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
May 10 Cairo Dollar General Store 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM & 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
May 17 Golconda Golden Circle Senior Center 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
May 17 Pope County High School 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
May 24 Hardin County High School 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM
May 24 Eddyville Village Hall 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
May 31 SMILES Senior Center, Mounds 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
May 31 Southern 7 Head Start, Mounds 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Free services available on the WOW Van include NARCAN training, blood pressure check, colorectal cancer tests (FIT), and medication disposal packets. Charged services available include blood lead, hemoglobin and cholesterol screenings, STD tests (including chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis), HIV, pregnancy, and TB skin tests, Well Water tests, Flu shots, and COVID-19 vaccine and boosters. All services will be offered while supplies are available. No appointment is required. Walk-ins are welcome.

Charged services, including a COVID-19 vaccine and booster and Flu shot, require a health insurance card. Those requesting a COVID-19 booster should bring their vaccine card.
The WOW Van, a multi-disciplinary mobile unit, is available to S7HD through a partnership with IDPH to provide health screenings and other services. IDPH partners with health agencies and hospitals to provide staff and services on the WOW Van at sites where people can come for medical services.
