Sen. Fowler appointed to Senate Republican Leadership

Springfield, IL – Following the swearing in of the 103rd General Assembly, Senator Dale Fowler (R-Harrisburg) was appointed to serve as Assistant Republican Leader for the Illinois Senate Republican Caucus. The appointment was made by newly-elected Senate Republican Leader John Curran (R-Downers Grove).

“I want to thank Leader Curran for this appointment as it will allow me to serve in a greater capacity for our caucus,” said Senator Fowler. “Leader Curran and I may be from opposite ends of the state, but we share similar ideas for what the future of Illinois should look like. I look forward to working with him and our Senate Republican colleagues to bring ideas forward that bring economic prosperity and development to communities across Illinois.”

Senator Fowler has served in the Illinois Senate since 2017. Prior to becoming a Senator, he served as the Mayor of Harrisburg. Outside of his Senate duties, Senator Fowler is the business development officer for the Peoples National Bank in Harrisburg.

Since taking office, Senator Fowler has secured millions of dollars to improve critical regions of the 59th District. He will serve in his new capacity through the 103rd General Assembly.

Commentary from Law Makers and Officials

“Senator Fowler brings a wealth of knowledge and incredible track record of accomplishments for the people of Southern Illinois,” said Leader Curran. “He understands business development, regional growth and the need to collaborate across the aisle to get things done. I look forward to working with him to help grow the downstate voice in Illinois public policy.”
