City of Metropolis requests the assistance of property owners in identifying the type of service line running to their home’s internal plumbing

The City of Metropolis requests the assistance of property owners within the city in identifying the type of service line that they have running to their home’s internal plumbing.

There are four types of piping: Lead, Copper, Galvanized and Plastic.

The information is needed following a Federal Government mandate that requires the City of Metropolis to identify where Lead services are located so that they can begin the process of eliminating them.

To report to the City of Metropolis what type of water service line you have visit their website www.metropolisil.gov – scroll down to “Resources for Residents” and click “Lead Service Line Survey”.
Mayor Canada joined WMOK for Coffee Break and gave us the full details on the project – Hear our discussion below:

Caramel apples are displayed in New York in October 2020. Homemade caramel apples are surprisingly easy to make. You can use whatever apples you like, as long as they are firm and crisp (Cheyenne M. Cohen via AP)

Halloween Caramel Apples: an easy, fun treat amid the candy

(AP) – There is a slightly weird irony to the fact that around Halloween, we tend to look for recipes for seasonal sweets, even as we prepare for an onslaught of candy. My kids are way beyond trick-or-treating age, but that doesn’t mean we don’t lay in a supply of mini candy bars for the kids who will come a-knocking at out door.

But if you are hosting a Halloween party — for adults or children — a plastic pumpkin full of mini candies might not feel special enough.

Maybe you were tasked with bringing a treat to a school party. Maybe (like us) your building hosts a Halloween party every year for the kids. Or maybe, even though you are an adult, you still think Halloween is the coolest holiday of the year and you need to go the extra mile!

Homemade caramel apples are surprisingly easy to make, and purely joyful.
