In from the Illinois State Police – Halloween Safety Tips

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2022 AT 6 PM – 9 PM – Massac County Mental Health’s Haunted Hayride – Massac County Youth Fairgrounds – 4476 Korte Rd, Metropolis. Those attending may ride in the main wagon, drive their car or even bring their own wagon through the haunted hayride route!

All proceeds go to Massac County Mental Health community programs.

Massac County Mental Health is in need of volunteers to help with a Haunted Hayride and calls on our local 4H’ers and others to help out. Volunteers are needed to dress up and walk around the path scaring people or to claim a space of their own to create a spooky scene. The staff at MCMH have suggestions if needed. Please contact MCMH at (618) 926-2402 to express interest in partnering with them.

Friday, October 21 – 12P – Sunday, October 23 at 12P Hidden Gems Novelty and Collectibles Presents – Fall Back to Metropolis 2022! Fun filled weekend in Metropolis Illinois. Featuring Mini-Con, Zombie Walk, Night of The Living Dead outdoor screening with Zaago’s Horror Extravaganza, Super Retro Dance Party with DJ Ray Martinez, Special Guest Raushan Hammond from Steven Speilburg’s “HOOK”, Voice actress Samantha Newark. Q&A a with celebrity guests, Bounce House, face painting, treats at Sissy’s a Sweet Shop after hours.

Friday, October 21 – 7P Fall Back to Metropolis 2022 – Come out at 7pm and participate in the first annual zombie walk. Stay for shopping , a costume contest and other fun. At 9pm Zaago’s Horror Extravaganza will be guiding everyone through an outdoor showing of the cult classic Night of the Living Dead!

Saturday, October 29 – 6:30-8:30P – Ghostly Wake hosted by Mrs. Elijah P. Curtis will take place at the Elijah P. Curtis House, located at 405 Market St. The event is suitable for all ages and costumes are welcome. Tickets are a donation of $7 donation to the Massac County Historical Society and are available at the door.
