Today is National No Rhyme or Reason Day! You snooze, you will be deprived. Fake it till you get there. These phrases just don’t have any rhyme to them. That’s no problem today, though, because National No Rhyme or Reason Day is for creating “rhymes” that don’t actually rhyme. English words that don’t rhyme with any other words are known as refractory rhymes, and using them makes National No Rhyme or Reason Day quite easy to celebrate. While there may be some obscure words that rhyme with purple, toilet, and orange, there aren’t many, and when words like these are used while forming rhymes today, the phrases likely won’t have much rhyme or reason to them.

Box of reptiles mailed to the wrong address in New York
“Needless to say the addressee was quite startled when they opened the box,” Port Chester police wrote on Facebook.
Police received the call about the reptiles just after noon on Saturday. They posted a picture on Sunday of three dark-colored lizards held in a large white container. It was not immediately clear whether there were more reptiles not pictured.
“If you lost your lizards and iguanas we have them at the police department,” police wrote.
They said they held the animals until a local animal sanctuary could pick them up for safekeeping.

Massac County High School Athletic Director Pat Clark has advised on Parking Changes for the upcoming Football Season
It is asked that folks use the North and South parking lots to park for football games as the back lot near the garage needs to be used for handicap parking, game workers and the like.
Clark advised that there are no guidelines in place regarding Covid-19, however they ask that parents/guardians remind the young kids they need to be in the bleachers when not going to the concession or the restroom. Clark also said that with the new concession stand being used, the “old” band and football concession sheds will not be in use.
The band concession is located in the middle nearest the restroom and the junior class football concession is now located on the far right of the new building.
Admission will be $4 for adults and $3 for students.
