Weekend Blessings Expects to Begin Food Deliveries to Students Next Week

Weekend Blessings has advised they will begin deliveries for the new school year next week. It’s expected that filled food bags should reach students on Thursday, August 25.

Weekend Blessings had a very successful 2021-22 school year. An average of 127 bags of food were provided hungry students each of 38 weeks of the school year. A total of 4,817 bags were made and that means that 33,719 meals for hungry children were impacted since food in the food bags provided for 6 weekend meals and one more extra meal. Costs have increased, but funds and volunteers were always available when needed. PTL.

Weekend Blessings involves many folks who provide financial support, time energy and effort to help reach hungry children at Maple Grove/Joppa, Head Start, Massac Co. Jr. High, MCHS, Franklin, Jefferson, and MES.
