Metropolis Police Department Arrest Blotter: Local Man Charged with Telephone Harassment Following Repeated Calls to Hospital
Metropolis, IL – Authorities have charged a local man, Jonathan Shelton, age 54, with telephone harassment after a series of unwarranted phone calls to Massac Memorial Hospital.

 

On February 14, hospital personnel alerted Metropolis Officers about Shelton’s incessant calls, expressing frustration over his refusal to stop contacting them. In response, a Metropolis Sergeant was dispatched to Shelton’s residence on East 6th Street. During this visit, the Sergeant advised Shelton to terminate his troubling behavior.

 

However, shortly after while the officer completed the report, officials at the hospital reported that Shelton had initiated yet another call. The hospital officials indicated their intention to file a formal complaint against him.

 

Following the complaint, Shelton was charged with telephone harassment. He has since been released on a notice to appear in court.
