No more tripping…
The tennis courts at Vienna High School are in the initial phases of being replaced. The school received some grant funds to help with the cost of replacing the well-used recreational space. “Based on a recent conversation with former superintendent Lawrence Kincaid, I believe the original courts were built in the early 1970s. While 50 years is super young in human years, in tennis court years, I think it means time for a little update,” said Joshua W. Stafford, superintendent.
The courts had been maintained but had progressed to becoming dangerous due to cracking and breaking apart, which became a trip hazard to users.
Morris Mott, a Vienna alumni and former board member, can be seen in the excavator removing the old asphalt to make way for the replacement.
