WMOK spoke with Metropolis Public Works director Natalie Harris - She advised that the boil water order has been LIFTED Water Main Break Causes Boil Water Advisory in Metropolis

WMOK (Metropolis) – *Update 11:20am Monday – WMOK spoke with Metropolis Public Works director Natalie Harris this morning.   Harris advised that the samples have been sent for testing and she estimates that it will be at least tomorrow before the results return.  Residents are asked to boil their water before using until that point.



WMOK (Metropolis, IL) – Yesterday afternoon the Metropolis City Hall advised that there was an 8-in water main break in the area near Massac Memorial Hospital.  Crews were notified and worked to repair it throughout the afternoon.

In an update later in the afternoon the city announced that Joshua Drive was included in the boil water advisory and in another update they advised that the boil water advisory is extended to Hilanoa, Cedar Lane, Marberry, Hillcrest and all of Lindsay edition.

As of late afternoon on Sunday, the city advised that crews were working on the issue and hoped to have it resolved soon.  The boil water order will be lifted after bacteriological testing is complete.
