Cobden Man Arrested for Driving with Revoked License and Warrant

WMOK – Metropolis, IL – December 29, 2024 – In a routine traffic stop on E. 5th St., a Metropolis Officer apprehended Roy S. Johnson, 52, of Cobden, after confirming he was driving with a revoked license. The officer, familiar with Johnson from previous encounters, initiated the stop and ran a computer check, which revealed that Johnson’s driving privileges had not been reinstated.

Further investigation indicated that Johnson also had an outstanding warrant issued by Massac County for failure to appear in court for the same charge of driving while revoked.

As a result of this incident, Johnson was arrested for the warrant and was also charged with driving while revoked and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was lodged at the Massac County Detention Center and awaits further legal proceedings.
