WMOK (Metropolis, IL) December 10, 2024 – Metropolis Police responded to a call reporting a disturbance in the 1100 block of E. 7th St. on Tuesday afternoon. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals involved in a heated altercation inside a parked automobile.
The incident unfolded when the vehicle’s owner discovered 42-year-old Timothy E. Stephens of Brookport inside his car. When confronted, Stephens allegedly engaged in a physical fight with the victim. The skirmish prompted the owner to call authorities for assistance.
During the subsequent investigation, officers determined that Stephens was not only trespassing but was also found in possession of methamphetamine. As a result, he was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to a motor vehicle, along with possession of a controlled substance.
After receiving medical treatment for unspecified injuries sustained during the altercation, Stephens was taken into custody and transported to the Massac County Detention Center. He awaits further legal proceedings.
