On November 23, 2024, officers from Metropolis were dispatched to the intersection of Ferry and 12th Street after a caller reported that a vehicle had driven into his yard and the driver was asleep inside.
Upon arrival, the officers found the car and woke the driver, Michael J. Miller, 37, from Hanson, KY. Miller claimed he was tired but was unable to explain how he ended up in the front yard. A computer check revealed that he was wanted on a warrant issued by DuPage County, IL, for felony theft, leading to his arrest.
During a search, officers discovered that Miller was in possession of methamphetamine and three other controlled substances. He has been charged with drug offenses and is currently being held at the Massac County Detention Center.
