I-24 Lane Closure – Projected for First Two Weeks of December

Lane Closure – INTERSTATE 24 Metropolis – The Illinois Department of Transportation wants to alert motorists traveling on Interstate 24 near Metropolis of a LANE CLOSURE.

INTERSTATE 24 eastbound or westbound driving lanes will be closed.

The lane closures are necessary to perform bridge inspections on the structure carrying Interstate 24 over the Ohio River.

The initial closure is scheduled for Monday, December 2nd, to Friday, December 6th, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The second closure is scheduled for Monday, December 9th, to Friday, December 13th, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Both closures are weather-dependent.
