Metropolis, IL – A group of community members are seeking the support of local residents to join a new community group aimed at furthering the library’s mission and impact within the community.
The inaugural meeting is scheduled for tonight, Wednesday, October 2, at 5:30 p.m. in the library’s basement.
The group’s primary objectives include raising funds for library programs, coordinating book sales and readings for children, providing books to local shut-ins, and cultivating community engagement.
Library officials have emphasized that there is no mandatory commitment, and all attendees are encouraged to share their ideas and participate at their own comfort level. Typically, meetings will be held on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., with exceptions for October and November, when they will be scheduled on Wednesdays.
