Monday WMOK News Check Yellow Sheet – Metropolis and Massac County News – August 19, 2024

(WMOK) Metropolis, Illinois – One of the ways that we keep tabs on items of interest in the community at WMOK is through topics that we observe residents discussing on Facebook.  Through noticing public conversation we’re often able to learn of potential issues and concerns to folks throughout the community of which we may have previously been unaware.

Occasionally we see commentary from the community regarding “Where all the money goes?” in the City of Metropolis. 

We’ve discussed this topic before with Metropolis Mayor Don Canada on our Coffee Break Program.  Mayor Canada joins us on the 3rd Thursday of each month on the program.

When Mayor Canada joined us this month we asked him to revisit the topic for those who had previously missed it: 

This Afternoon -Sunny, with a high near 84. Light north wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning.

Tonight – Mostly clear, with a low around 59. North wind 3 to 6 mph.

Tuesday – Sunny, with a high near 81. North northeast wind 6 to 10 mph.

Tuesday Night – Partly cloudy, with a low around 56. North northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday – Sunny, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming east northeast around 6 mph in the morning.

Wednesday Night – Mostly clear, with a low around 54. Light east northeast wind.

Thursday – Sunny, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the morning.
