Inaugural Celebrity Showmanship Event Debuts at Massac County Youth Fair on Wednesday Night

City National Bank’s Landon Bremer Takes Home 1st Place – WMOK’s Own Kim Comer Placed 5th

(WMOK) Metropolis, IL – The Massac County Youth Fair hosted its first-ever Celebrity Showmanship competition on Wednesday night, an event initially planned for last year but postponed due to historic flooding at the fairgrounds in 2023.

During a Coffee Break Episode earlier this month, Fair President Tammy Obermark expressed her hope to WMOK that the event would attract new visitors to the Youth Fair who might not have otherwise attended. The competition featured local celebrities showcasing their skills in three areas: pig, sheep, and cow showmanship.

Presenters were: Don Robbins of Massac Memorial Hospital, Jason McManus of Loftus-McManus Funeral Home, Landon Bremer of City National Bank, Kristen Bremer of Country Financial, Brian Horn of Massac County Emergency Management, Leslie Poole of Metropolis Big John, Chad Souders of Bill’s Bbq and WMOK’s own, Kim Comer.

The Celebrity Showmanship competition aimed to bring a fresh and exciting element to the Massac County Youth Fair, and its success is expected to pave the way for future events.

WMOK would like to thank the Massac County Youth Fair for including us in the event.  We would also like to give a special thanks to Clint Smith of the Massac County Youth Fair.  We asked Clint to help us out by operating the camera for the livestream – not only did he do that but he did a bit of commentary as well.

You’ll find the WMOK Facebook Live of last night’s competition below:
