Community to Gather Today for Retirement Celebration today to recognize Doris Vogt's Career and Commitment to Massac County Youth

WMOK, Metropolis, IL – Today, the Metropolis Community Center will host a retirement reception for Doris Vogt, a dedicated educator and community leader, from 2 pm to 4 pm. The public is invited to attend this “come and go” event to honor Vogt’s decades of service and impact on the community.

Vogt’s teaching career spanned multiple schools, including Franklin Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, and Massac County High School, where she served as assistant principal. After retiring from teaching in 1996, she continued to inspire youth through Reaching for Kids and Youth of Massac County, Inc., exposing students to various activities and places to broaden their educational and career horizons.

The reception offers an opportunity for those whose lives Vogt has touched to gather, celebrate, and express gratitude for her dedication and influence. All are welcome to attend and share their appreciation for her remarkable legacy.

The Metropolis Community Center is located at 900 W 10th St, Metropolis
