(A Walk-A-Thon to Support Cancer Programs in the Lower Seven Counties in Illinois)
As cancer continues to dominate throughout the region, plans are being made for the 2nd Annual “Cancer Warriors Walk
for Hope”. Healthcare providers and businesses serving area cancer families and those impacted will host the one-day
event on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Dorothy Miller Park in Metropolis, Illinois; located
next to Harrah’s Casino.
The purpose of this event is to provide a day full of fun and resources for cancer patients, caregivers, and family
members of all ages, while raising awareness and funds to support cancer programs in the lower seven counties in
Illinois.
The “Cancer Warriors Walk of Hope” is presented in partnership by Massac Memorial Hospital, Union County Hospital,
Hardin County General Hospital, Rural Health, Inc., CHESI (Community Health & Emergency Services), Southern 7 Health
Department, and the Hope Light Foundation.
