Metropolis Mayor Don Canada Speaks With WMOK Re: His Role In The Metropolis Public Library Board


(WMOK) Metropolis, IL – A community conversation regarding library content has erupted in Metropolis in the past weeks.  On Tuesday morning, preceding a march by the Massac County Democrats to Keep Public Libraries Public – Metropolis Mayor Don Canada came to WMOK to confer with us about the talk around Metropolis regarding the future of the Metropolis Public Library.

While we discussed many facets of this we told Mayor Canada that in the interest of time and information to the community we need to know what his role is in the Metropolis Public Library

Mayor Canada stated when we spoke on Tuesday morning that WMOK had received much of their information the way he had received his, “on Facebook”.  We need to clarify that the information that has fueled WMOK’s portion of this story was not obtained on social media.
