COALITION MAKES DONATION

/ WMOK

ANNA, IL, FEBRUARY 08 – The United Recovery Community Coalition completed its very first community project by making a donation to the Children’s Medical and Mental Health Resource Network. Various agencies and members of the coalition volunteered their time and came together to assemble wellness bags for children and families in the region. The wellness bags consisted of health and hygiene products, first aid kits, various toys, etc. Numerous stuffed animals were collected and included in the donation as well. Coalition agencies/businesses included in the effort include: Rural Health, Inc., Arrowleaf, Lemons Coin Machines Inc., and the Marion IL VA Medical Center. The Children’s Medical and Mental Health Resource Network, through SIU Medicine, provides specialized medical evaluations and support for children who are reported victims of child abuse or who are at risk of child abuse. The coalition and its volunteers are proud of the donation made, hoping it aids local children in need of resources. The coalition looks forward to future projects that can benefit the region.
