(WMOK) Metropolis, IL – The temperatures were comfortable for National night out on Tuesday evening in Metropolis.
The community was invited from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. to come out and enjoy a hot dog, “merch” from local groups and organizations, washer pitching and more
The Metropolis Police Department, Metropolis Fire Department and Mayor Don Canada were on hand
As well as the Massac County Sheriff’s Department
Guardian Family Services came out to share information and materials with the community. We discussed their current PSA which runs on WMOK as well as plans to schedule an upcoming Coffee Break
Representatives from the Massac County Girl Scouts were on hand. We collected some materials from them on upcoming events which we’ll have for you soon in our WMOK Community Events Listing
Eastland Life Church was there for some archery and crafting projects
Massac Memorial Hospital joined the fun to educate the community about their services
Massac County Drug Awareness Coalition shared some great news with us about the success of their Free Laundry Events – they’ll be planning another one soon and we’ll be in touch with them for details
We had a great chat with the folks at Massac County Mental Health and discussed plans for an upcoming Coffee Break on Social Anxiety
A big thank you to the folks who worked hard to provide hot dogs and chips
And all of the folks who stopped in for a few minutes or hung around for a while and played a game of horseshoes for coming out to take part in this fantastic community event.
