(WMOK) Metropolis, IL – As we were out and about in Metropolis on Superman Celebration Saturday – we met a family who came to visit us here in Metropolis following their discovery of Metropolis during a December trip.
The family was traveling to North Carolina when road conditions became poor and they needed a rest. They pulled off at Metropolis. While visiting a local gas station they asked about the plethora of Superhero merchandise and learned that they had inadvertently stopped in the Home of Superman.
Upon further discussion with the clerk they learned of the Superman Celebration held each June and began planning their trip.
