School Superintendent Joshua Stafford Announces Two new bus drivers at Vienna

“We all start our day with that first interaction and that interaction sets the tone. Our bus driving staff is generally that first interaction with students and we have been able to select two people that set a positive welcoming tone,” shared Joshua Stafford school superintendent in regard to the hiring of both Tina Smock and Mary Mullinix. Each of these two new hires are not new to the profession of student transposition.

Tina Smock has over 15 years of bus driver experience. “Since moving to Vienna over 17 years ago, it has been my goal to work for Vienna High School. I am very excited to work with the students and staff,” stated Smock. Mrs. Smock currently takes students each day to the Illinois Laborers Construction Craft Preparation Program. Prior to being hired in a permanent position she had been serving the district in substitute status. She enjoys soap making and caring for animals.

Mary Mullinix started driving a bus the year she moved to Southern Illinois in 1997. She became a substitute teacher after acquiring her bus driver’s license. Mary is active in ministry as a worship leader and has published two faith-based books. Mary has four grandchildren she adores. She said, “I had decided to go into retirement, however, I changed my mind after this position became available.” Mrs. Mullinix drives an AM/PM route that covers portions of the Ozark.
