Metropolis Disturbance Leads to Discovery of Stolen Handguns and other Contraband

Metropolis Officers advised that on February 26th they were called to a disturbance at 1909 Ferry Street.

Upon arrival, they met with a person who stated that she wanted to retrieve her belongings as she wanted to move out of the residence. While she was packing her stuff, a handgun fell to the floor.

A computer check revealed that the handgun had been reported stolen out of Paducah, KY.

The scene was secured and a search warrant was obtained.

The search revealed approximately 45 grams (over 200 pills) of Fentanyl, 5 (3 reported stolen) handguns and other contraband.

Joshua T. Lindsey,24, Metropolis was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of controlled substance with the intent to deliver.

Jordyn A . Smith,21, Kevil KY was charged with possession of a stolen handgun,

Jerry T. Helton,67, Metropolis was charged with possession of a controlled substance and no valid FOID card. All were lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
