Massac County Sheriff Chad Kaylor Speaks with WMOK about FOID Cards in Illinois

/ WMOK

When Massac County Sheriff Chad Kaylor joined WMOK for Coffee Break this week we discussed the automatic renewal of FOID cards in Illinois.

Sheriff Kaylor recalled his experience with FOID cards having gotten his first one at age 18.

Sheriff Kaylor said that while the automatic renewal “sounds great” it has serious problems.   He cited an instance in which another Illinois Sheriff advised him of a deceased woman whose FOID card had been automatically reviewed.

Regarding the Automatic renewal, Sheriff Kaylor went on to discuss the systems imperfections in that there’s no way to “know what someone might do”.   He said that he feels that rather than debating “how many rounds a magazine can have” we should debate more on “what type of people can have it”.

Sheriff Kaylor went on to explain the Second Amendment
