Election Day Blood Drive and Veterans Day Event added to the calendar at the Metropolis Public Library in November

Director Rosemary Baxter told WMOK earlier this month on Coffee Break that the Tuesday, November 8th (Election Day) Blood Drive is booking up fast.  Director Baxter said the event is by appointment only between 8A – 1P. The blood drive will be held downstairs in the library’s meeting room. Please call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter MetropolisPL to schedule an appointment.

Baxter also looks forward to the opportunity to celebrate our Veterans in November.  On Friday, November 11, the Metropolis Public Library and the American Legion Post 306 will celebrate Veterans Day. The day will kick off with Breakfast from 9A-10:45A at the Metropolis Public Library. Followed by the Ceremony at 11A at the Veterans Memorial Park. Lunch will be served at 12P at the American Legion. They will be serving Chili and Chili Dogs. Guest speaker will be Captain Dave Park’s U. S . Navy (Retired).
