All Southernmost Illinois Counties at High Community Transmission Level

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reports that as of July 22, according to the CDC, 94 Illinois counties are at High or Medium COVID-19 Community Transmission Levels. Southern 7 Health Department (S7HD) reports that all seven counties located in the Southern 7 region are listed at High Level.

“Residents in these counties are urged to be cautious, especially if they are immunocompromised, have underlying health conditions, or have close contact with someone who is either,” said Shawnna Rhine S7HD Community Outreach Coordinator. “While it’s hard to know how many positive cases there are, High Levels mean cases are rising and local hospitals are being affected. We should all take this seriously.”

COVID-19 vaccines for adults and children age 6 months to age 18 are available at each Southern 7 Public Health Clinic by appointment only. Adults can also get their shot, without an appointment, on the Wellness on Wheels (WOW) Van.

IV medications and oral pills can now be used to treat COVID-19. Talk with a health care provider as soon as possible to see if you are eligible for one of these treatments. You will need a prescription.

To find the Southern 7 Public Health Clinic in your county, visit southern7.org, download the Southern 7 App or call 618-634-2297. For a complete schedule of WOW Van dates in your area, visit Southern 7 Health Department on Facebook or call 618-634-2297 ex. 9161.
