Massac County Farmers Market in Search of Vendors – Produce and Non-Produce – Farmers – Home Gardeners – Crafters and More

The Massac County Farmers Market will take place on Thursday and Friday from 3-6pm and on Saturday from 8am-Noon.  The shopping experience is contingent upon how many vendors arrive to share their produce, plants, crafts, jams, preserves and other goodies with the community.  If you are interested in participating as a vendor – contact Alexis Burnett at the Massac County Farm Bureau Office at 618-524-5811.

WMOK heard from Mr. Verbarg on Wednesday morning and he advised that he will be at the Massac County Farmers Market on Thursday at 3pm and on Saturday at 7am.  Mr. Verbarg will have available Missouri Watermelons (seeded and unseeded), Green Beans, Bell Peppers, Zuchini, Squash, Tomatoes (Yellow and Red).  Mr. Childress has advised that he will have Sweet Corn at the Massac County Farmers Market on Saturday at 9am.

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook statement for our area.

Today and Tonight isolated thunderstorms are possible across southwest Indiana, southeast Illinois, and northwest Kentucky today. Lightning and brief heavy rain will be the main impacts.

Friday through Wednesday  – There is a slight chance of thunderstorms late Friday night across southwest Indiana and southeast Illinois. A good chance of storms is forecast area wide Saturday night through Monday. While a locally strong storm cannot be ruled out, the main concern will be lightning and locally heavy rainfall. Daily peak heat indices are forecast to increase to around 100 by Tuesday and Wednesday.

JULY

On July 16 – The Christian Bowhunters Association National Banquet will take place at Eastland Life Church – 716 East 3rd Street in Metropolis.

The doors will open at 1pm. The event is free, however you will need to reserve your ticket (of the 100 still available) to attend.  The event will include vendors, youth and beginner’s archery, CBA Merchandise, seminars, FREE door prizes, a silent auction, great food and fellowship. The evening will conclude with a message from CBA founder Rev. David L. Roose.  This year’s banquet will be hosted by CBA Chapter Joshua 24:15 Outdoors Ministries.

Saturday, July 16th and Sunday, July 17th, 2022 -26th Annual Massac County Youth Fair Tractor and Farm Machinery Show

Rules for Tractor & Old Machinery Show (July 16 & 17) Sponsored by Massac County Youth Fair & Community Center, Inc

Machinery must be operated in slow and safe manner always. Anyone 16 years of age operating machinery must have adult supervision. Do NOT leave machinery running and unattended. Sponsor and/or contact person are NOT responsible for injury, theft, damage or loss of tools or equipment. NOTE: Riders on tractors MUST have a seat, extra riders will NOT be permitted on tractors unless they have a safe seat.

Machinery may be brought to the show site beginning on Friday, July 16 and must be moved from the show area by 4PM on Sunday (7/17).

Campers for Youth Fair participants will be allowed to set up Sunday afternoon at 4P.
