It is too early to speculate on amounts and travel impacts at this time. There is high confidence that very cold air will overspread the region Friday night. Wind Chill values will range from zero to 10 above early Saturday morning and temperatures over much of the area may not reach freezing on Saturday.

There is a Flood Warning in effect for our area until Wednesday, March 16, at 7PM. Water levels along the lower Ohio River are slowly falling. The river is forecast to fall below flood stage at Smithland Dam this week and at points downstream next week.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

When Does Daylight Saving Time Begin

Don’t forget to Spring Forward on Saturday Night

Daylight Saving Time Begins at

2am on Sunday, March 13

From the National Conference of State Legislatures:

“In the last four years, 18 states have enacted legislation or passed resolutions to provide for year-round daylight saving time, if Congress were to allow such a change, and in some cases, if surrounding states enact the same legislation. Because federal law does not currently allow full-time DST, Congress would have to act before states could adopt changes.”
