Massac County Drug Awareness Coalition in search of Project Coordinator

This position is full-time, 40 hours per week.  The salary is  $36,000.00 and the position is grant-funded for approximately 2.5 years with additional funding possible.

Job duties:

-Implement Drug-Free Communities grant activities

-Develop and foster community relationships to provide substance misuse prevention strategies across all sectors of the community

-Effectively collaborate with youth, parents, professionals and other community members while working cooperatively with DFC program staff members and volunteers

-Demonstrate dependability and punctuality related to scheduling and attendance

-Attend all coalition meetings and trainings as required

-Mentor a Youth Advisory Council and facilitate youth projects

-Collect data

-Disseminate information to the community

-Create flyers for events

-Create social media content

-Order marketing materials

-Prepare items for programs

-General filing, copying, etc.

-Other functions as required

Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree (or working towards a degree) preferred in public relations, marketing, public health, behavioral sciences or related field, or equivalent work experience required.

-Proven written, oral communication, dynamic public speaking and social media skills.

-Efficient in community team building and developing and maintaining partnerships.

-Ability to work with all age groups in diverse community settings

-Highly developed interpersonal skills and time management capabilities

-Excellent computer skills and proven ability to create content such as flyers, social media posts, graphics, etc.

-Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and an acceptable driving record

Travel Required:

Frequent travel within Massac County, occasional travel to other parts of Illinois and some air travel to national trainings.

Occasional work on evenings and weekends will be required.
