Metropolis Mayor Don Canada Talks with WMOK about Parking Improvements in Uptown Metropolis

WMOK spoke with recently with Metropolis Mayor Don Canada about parking projects and upkeep taking place in the city.

 

Mayor Canada updated WMOK regarding the new city parking lot that will be located  at the corner of Sixth and Pearl streets in Uptown Metropolis. 

 

This will allow quite a bit of extra parking.  In addition to the added the parking, the public restrooms currently located in the 100 block of west 7th Street will be moved to the new space at Sixth and Pearl.   

 

Mayor Canada told WMOK that it is expected that the Sixth and Pearl Street parking area will be completed and available for the 2022 Superman Celebration.

 

Mayor Canada advised that maintenance has recently taken place at the Uptown Parking lot that is located between Hardee’s and Market Street.  Clean up was done at the lot earlier this month and it has been restriped.
