Sunday Morning Stabbing in Metropolis Results in Foot Chase and Arrest

We first told you today during the WMOK Morning Show about a commotion that took place early Sunday in Metropolis.  We’ve now spoken with Metropolis Director of Public Safety, Chief Harry Masse and have confirmed that a stabbing took place early Sunday Morning in Metropolis.

Just after 4am on Sunday, Metropolis officers responded to a report of a person being stabbed near Filmore and E. 5th St. The victim was located and transported by ambulance to a hospital in KY.

The victim advised he had been in a fight over money.

The offender was identified as Johntrell D. Foster, 28,  Foster had fled the scene and a search ensued.

At approximately, 6:03 am, Foster was located at a residence in the 700 block of E. 7th St.

Foster was taken into custody and a search found him to be in possession of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Foster was charged with Aggravated Battery, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of drug paraphernalia. Foster was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

According to court documents Foster’s Preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8/9/21 at 1:00 Pm.
