/ WMOK

When Director of Public Safety Chief Harry Masse spoke with WMOK, he covered many topics one of which was grass clippings in the roads and making sure that your grass clippings are out of the road after you mow.

It’s very dangerous for travelers on motorcycles, is would similar to driving on ice. Chief Masse suggested be considerate, turn mower other way to where it’s blowing the grass clippings back toward your yard. If for some reason that’s not possible then as when finished mowing take a leaf blower or even a broom to remove the grass clippings from the roadway.

Chief Masse advised “it isn’t just something you should do to be nice – it is a state law and a local ordinance”. Masse told WMOK that Abatement Officer John Roman will take appropriate action and ticket offenders as will  local police officers if necessary.
