A Hit and Run in Metropolis on Tuesday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a Paducah man.
Metropolis Director of Public Safety – Chief Harry Masse told WMOK that Cortez Johnson, 29 of Paducah rear-ended a vehicle yesterday in front of Pizza Hut on Highway 45 in Metropolis and left the scene.
Johnson was stopped on the ramp to EB I-24 by Massac County deputies. Johnson was charged with Reckless driving, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
The driver of the vehicle #2 was transported by a Massac County ambulance to Baptist hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.
According to court documents Johnson’s first appearance in court will be August 26.
