The Superman Celebration 2021 will begin on Friday, July 30 and go through Sunday, August 1. For over 40 years, the City of Metropolis has welcomed countless Superman Fans from around the world. This year marks the first time that the celebration will be held in July.
For over 40 years, Metropolis has welcomed countless Superman Fans from around the world to this event. What started as a 1 day event for the local community, has grown over the years to a 3 day event that has attracted the attention of media and people from around the world. There is also the fun of games and entertainment including a carnival and costume contest throughout the weekend. The Rotary Club hosts its annual car show and Kiwanis Club holds a Super Bike Trek to raise money for local student scholarships. The United Way hosts a road race to raise money for their organization during the Celebration as well. Many other organizations also hold events that serve as fundraisers to give back to the Metropolis community throughout the year.
This year the Celebrity Guests include: Stacy Haiduk (Superboy, the Round Table), Iian Mitchell-Smith (Weird Science, Superboy), Nicholle Tom(Beethoven, Gotham), K Callen (Lois & Clark: The New Adventuresof Superman), All three guests will be available to meet fans Friday and Saturday and will take part in a questions and answers session under the Metropolis Tent.
Artist Arthur Suydam will appear as the Super Museum special guest at Hidden Gems Super Mini Con during this year’s Superman Celebration. Arthur Suydam is an American comic book artist known for his work on Marvel Zombies, Deadpool, Black Panther, and KISS Zombies.

Saturday July 31, 7 – 9 PM – City National Bank Stage – The Aquaducks will perform. The Aquaducks are a high energy funk & soul band from Nashville, TN.
Saturday, July 31 – Kiwanis Club of Metropolis’ Superman Bicycle Ride starting at 8 AM. You can register online for this year’s ride. The registration form is also available for download if you’d rather mail it in, or you can register in person the morning of the ride The ride fee will be $35. Kids 16 and under can ride free when accompanied by an adult. Go to: ride.metropoliskiwanis.org to register.
